Another great practice session for Metro Kendo Club happened this weekend and this time, it’s in Davao. We were invited by Davao Kendo Club for a two day joint practice last June, 27 and 28. 17 members visited Davao which includes 7th Dan Naoko Morishima sensei and 5th Dan Tomo Akita sensei. Another year is coming to an end and every December we hold the Yamanishi Cup. Named after Metro Kendo Club’s previous head teacher of more than 10 years, Koji Yamanishi Sensei. This year it was held last December 6 at the Gatorade Hoops Center. There were visiting sensei’s present and together with our resident senseis acted as shimpans / judges during the event. WE'VE MOVED! Metro Kendo Club practices are now held every Saturday 6 to 8pm at the Gatorade Hoops Center, Liberty Center on Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. Metroken attended the recently concluded 14th Hong Kong Open Kendo Championship last Feb 28 – Mar 2, 2014.
